First row: Boyd Austin ,loe Larson, Kenneth Deboy, Don Murrison. Seventy-nine frightened freshmen entered Calaveras in September 1948. We shall long remember with what fear and trembling we looked forward to the Freshman initiation. and it was not until after it was over that we really began to feel at home. The highlight of our sophomore year was our trip to the College of the Pacific where we saw a production of Julius Caeser. All our efforts in our junior year were devoted to making the ,lunior-Senior Prom a success. The theme Enchanted Islandw was carried out beautifully and in great detail: everyone agreed that it was the hbest ever. Mrs. Alford and Mr. Hopper, who have been our sponsors for the past three years. worked diligently with the committees to plan the banquet and decorate the gym. As juniors. we took upon ourselves the task of revising the Student Body Constitu- tion in order to make the government of our school more democratic: equal class representation in the Student Council and provision for regular Student Body and Student Council meetings were some of the revisions. Our class has always been high in scholarship having an average of seventeen on the honor roll each semester. Martha Cates, Gwen McClelland, Janet Rossetti and Frank Sanclretto were elected to membership in the National Honor Society at the end of their junior year. A chapter of CSF was established in February 1952 and several seniors will receive the gold seal on their diplomas. ln athletics. as well as in scholarship. many members of our class have been out- standing. Francis Kirk made a letter in varsity football in his freshman year. This year. seventeen out of a twenty-five man squad in football and eight out of eleven in basketball are members of the senior class. We shall never forget the past four years we have spent at the Rock, nor the many happy times we have had and the friends we have made.

This year many hours have been spent, not only in formulating school policies, but also in planning new and bet- ter facilitics for us. l
