As I passed 'rhrough France I saw Jane Meyer silling on a curbslone. She was leading a slrilce of French designers againsl I-Iollywood. ll seems lhal Jane and her colleagues wanl 'ro gel lhe old shorl slcirls of l'heir high school days baclc in vogue. Ray Gillel is in England playing lhe lnlernalional Championship Golf rournamenl' of lhe year. Ray has a lillle red scooler lo gel around lhe green on, Al' Cadiz, Spain, I noliced Cruz Gonzalez singing lorch songs in an ex- clusive nighl club. The Parrish girls, Reva and Juaniia, have recenrly employed Darrel George 'fo milk cows on iheir ranch in Oklahoma. A+ lasl'-fhe realiza- 'rion of Darrel's dream! --Bul' my grearesl surprise came when l mei Pep Peek in Berkeley a few days ago. l-le is working on a plan in which sponge rubber will replace The old furf of The gridiron. Pep says il' will be a greaf advaniage io 'rhe ball carrier, as he will be able +o bounce over for a Touch-down. Peek, who is coaching Cal's eleven, seems io be doing some greaf work fhis year. I heard from Bob Moody. ihe explorer, Thai Fred Queslo is a mul'ri- millionaire in Soufh Africa. Several years ago Fred discovered a new kind of fly-paper and was immedialely made wealihy. Now Fred can slep every Saiurday nighi-Cozy? Chesier Moody. Gerard Oneio, and Fd Murrison form a popular +rio on Jack Prowse's Yello program. Rurh Carl+on, owner of 'rhe company. has improved 'rhe producr so lrhai now Yello has sixieen delicious flavors. Oi course Jack and Sianley Ambrose llhe Fred Allen of 'rodayl are siill having public disagreemenis. Alfred Thym is ihe presidenl of a fly swa'r+er company in Sacramenio where Carl Maison has raken over managemen'r of a five and 'ren cenf sfore. Earl l-lansen is designing rockel' ships several miles ou'r of 'rown. Efhel Cofier is his iesr pilot and, of course, she gefs smashed up every now and ihen. Buf she gels well quickly under fhe guidance of Docior Wayne McMillan. Ed Wade runs ihe Ferris Wheel in a lraveling carnival. Well, I suppose +ha'r's all for ihis Jrime.
