Sensor Class History In the fall of 1948 fifteen Freshmen entered Calamus high and were lnltlated by the Seniors We elected Bob Huetter as class president and Mrs Donald Ramsey was our class sponsor During the year Dorothy Schweln and Jeannette Goddard joined us and Ralph Lee dropped out During our Sophomore year Dwaln Goettsch joined the class and Janis Davison left us Miss Elaine Hulse was our class sponsor and Donna Olson our class president In our Junior year we presented our class play April Showers written and directed by our class sponsor Mrs Dwaln Meyers We also entertained the high school and faculty to a Sock Hop patty Jack Armstrong joined the class during the year The theme of our Junior Senior Banquet held at the Roosevelt Hotel Cedar Rapids was Hitch Your Wagon to a Star Janelle Henning our As Seniors this year we total fifteen Robert Hansen is our class president and Mr Nelson our class sponsor We have been working on our play Star Crazy , and are looking forward to Senior Day At Homecoming this year Dwaln Goettsch and Janelle Hannlng were crowned king and queen Our class motto is Sunrise not Sunset our colors are powder blue and yellow and our flower is the yellow rose Out of our class of fifteen the following have attended Calamus school since kindergarten Janelle Henning Robert Hansen Lee Hovey Darold Dieckmann and Harold Gorzney We graduated on May 22 1952 9 Q I I I R ni D ' D .
