We have seen you co ntribute to the spirit and vitality of the campus as you have studied, discussed, explored and assimilated literally hundreds of new concepts, theories and facts. We know that during the past years, you have often had to burn midnight oil and to defer personal pleasures involving family and friends in order to accomplish your academic goals. May you sustain the disciplined commitment and the focused energy of your undergraduate years in the future as you tackle new projects. I am sure that as you look back to your freshman year, this process has been one of maturation, acquisition of knowledge and accumulation of wisdom. You will play a central role in ex tending the influence of the Arts in enriching the quality of life in these times. The growth of the Arts in Orange county in the last five years is extraordinary. The completion of two new amphitheaters, extension and renovations of area museums, growth of small theaters, and the ground breaking for a multi- million dollar Orange County Performing Arts Center signal the Arts ' explosion in this area. The cultural wasteland is breaking forth into full bloom. We are committed to our mission of providing an environment for growth and extension of the individual artist. We are proud of the individual past accomplishments of our graduates and we look forward to watching your artistic endeavors in the future. ANDERSON, Dean School of Business Administration Economics On behalf of the faculty and staff in the School of Business Administration and Economics, I would like to relay our best wishes on completion of your undergraduate degree here at California State University, Fullerton. The SBAE continues to grow in number of students and in stature within the community, due in large part to the successful efforts of our alumni. In addition, the members of our faculty have established themselves through teaching and research efforts as one of the best business faculties in the country. The University is working hard to continue providing our excellent programs with the resources available. Unfortunately, the business school remains impacted as demand for our courses far exceeds our ability to provide professors and classrooms necessary to satisfy that demand. The pre-business classification for all lower division students continues and specific criteria must be met before a student becomes a business major in his her junior year. Each of you is the product of a unique life history and is moving toward an individual future. Nevertheless, you share with one another the common experience of having been students here at CSUF. It is my hope that experience will be useful to you, regradless of your future, and that you will value the efforts we have made to educate you. The success or failure of those efforts at education is not always evident upon graduation. The problem-solving abilities and the value orientation that are at the root of the disciplines in this school are usually better seen as one makes important life choices. Frequently, these choices do not come until some years after commencement. In the meantime, it is important to remember that the acquiring of your degree does not end your education.
