Missions of CSUF The primary missions of the Univer- sity are to disseminate and to advance know ledge through the highest quality instructional programs and scholarly and creative activities of which we are capable. In our efforts to achieve these primary missions, our challenges include pro- viding outstanding quality undergrad- uate, graduate, post-baccalaureate and continuing education programs for a student population which is increasingly diverse in age, socio-eco- nomic background, academic prepa- ration, life experiences, learning styles, personal goals and educational needs. An important secondary mission is to serve the citizens of our communities with quality public outreach and involvement programs. Th ' ese pro- grams include serving our communi- ties as an essential regional cultural- intellectual-educational center. Also important are the development of sig- nificant )Oint ventures for solving com- munity problems and major coopera- tive efforts directed to the improve- ment of the quality of life in our serv- ice region.
