FOREIGN My name is jose. I am from northern Spain and I came here with the AFS. My city Bilbao 14, 000, OOO peoplej, is an industrial city and a seaport. It is the most important of the Basque country which is composed of four provinces in the northern part of Spain. The Basque people feel that they are different in some ways from the rest of the Spanish people because they speak Basque, which is unlike any other language in the World. Here I am staying with the Twichell's and I think they are a great family. Here, like in Spain, I have two brothers, so the size of my family has not been changed. I have already graduated in Spain, when I go back I will go to college. I will try for my Masters in Biology. To tell the truth the school is not very exciting here. It is easier than over there too. You don't have to memorize as many things. But somethings Ifind interesting is the many different activities and sports you can choose from. Actually, besides the school, the AFS activities and the water polo practice take almost all my time. Denmark is a little country with only 5 mil. people, and l mil. live in Copen- hagen, so that is quite a big town for us. Iarrived on the first of August and I liked San Bernardino very much from the very first day. We don't have mountains in Denmark at all, so I enjoy so much to wake up every morn- ing and see the mountains right outside my window. People always ask me what there is really different, and that is hard to answer be- cause people are the same all over the world . But I can say that everything is much bigger here, the cars, the houses, yes even the ham- burgers! Iwould like to thank everybody at this school for the help and the nice way you welcomed me.
