HARVEST OF HARMONY On the morning of Octo- ber 3, 1987, Centura’s Marching Centurions set out to do what they had never done before. Led by majorette Wanda Stienike and preceded by the queen candidate Heather Simdorn, the band mar- ched to a victory. Not only did the band take the Class C trophy, they also were named the best band in Classes C and D. For this, they were awarded the traveling trophy. The band director, Charles Wellensiek, had this to say: “After 14 years of practice, we finally got it right.” Harvest of Harmo- ny was a success for the Centurions! SWEETHEART DANCE On Saturday, February 27th in the Centura Jr. and Sr. High School gymnasium, the Centura Future Farmers of America and the Future Home- makers of America Mid-Winter dance was held. The Royalty were selected from members of FFA and FHA. Jennifer Myers, Vickie Wooden, Marcia Kuszak, Heather Ripp, Bob Harders, Todd Nitsch, Dave Baasch and James Stutzman. STYLE SHOW THE BLINKER BAR Dave and Sue Guzinski Cairo, NE 68824 FHA held a style show in the elementary gym. Preceded by a dessert, guests were seat- ed at tables. The Fantasy Island theme pro- vided an interesting back ground for models. Beginning with freeze modeling, the models staged different settings on stage and then walked among the audience. Fashions made in Home Ec. classes, prom dresses and gar- ments loaned from the Closet, Maurices, Brass Buckle and Younkers were presented. FFA boys assisted and also modeled. Door prizes from florists and local shops featured intermission interest. The traditional can- dlelight installation of new FHA officers and chapter mothers followed the show. There was a large crowd and the evening was an enjoyable activity for Centura FHA.
