FALL PLAY This year four one-act plays were presented as the fall play on November 13 and 14. Rehear- sals for The Man That Corrupted Hadleyburg” were held after school. The other three plays were rehearsed in Drama Class. They were “Good-Bye to the Clown”, “A Game”, and “Baby”. Performances included both comedy and drama. “The Man That Corrupted Hadleyburg” is a satire of a town that considered itself “incorruptible” and found that it was mistaken. “Good-Bye to the Clown” deals with a little girl who has created an imaginary clown to take the place of her father who has died. “A Game” begins as a simple experiment in game playing between three innocent and unsus- pecting participants. Soon the effects of greed and possessiveness cause the game to become re- ality. “Baby” is a somewhat outrageous comedy in which the world is viewed through the eyes of a baby. The theater was full both nights, and audi- ences indicated their appreciation. Peggy, Mother, Clown and Uncle George eat supper in “Good-Bye to the Clown. «»» W.J Edward and Mary Richards discuss the money in “The Man That Corrupted Hadleyburg.” Petunia Pinkerton praises her husband Mayor Pinkerton of Hadleyburg while Mr. Billson and Mr. Wilson watch. Jeremiah and Prudence Cox wait patiently in Hadleyburg. The Stranger begins his work on corrupting Hadleyburg. 4
