HOMECOMING The Homecoming Celebration started Tuesday, November 30th, as the halls were filled with stripes and shades. Wednesday was designated as “I Want to Be a Cowboy” day. The festivities proceeded to Thursday with the attire of burgundy and white. Spirit days con- cluded on Friday with Dress-up Day. Along with these activities, the pods were decorated with each class as- signed a different pod. Prizes were awarded to the clas- ses that had the most participation during spirit days and in pod decoration. In both cases, the Seniors took first. That night the volleyball team whipped Loup City despite the Raiders’ attempts. Also, the football team pulled off another win in spite of Mother Nature’s tac- tics. Saturday evening, October 4th, the 1986 Home- coming dance was held. Dana Spiehs and Terry Nitsch were crowned by former royalty, Jennifer Reynolds and Dave Bell. First Runners-up were Vanessa Melch and Kyle Caspersen. Second Runners-up were Melissa Bel- lamy and Steve Setsodi. Other candidates included Hali Lockhart, Denise Trumler, Rob Hargens, and Darin Jantzi. Heather Myers and James Hoke were crown bearers. Robe bearers were Heather Simdorn and Bill Baasch. Shawn Nielsen and Dawn Werre were the junior attendants, as were Todd Nitsch and Wanda Stienike for the sophomores.
