WRESTLING An aggressive style and good hard work paid off for the Centura wrestling team this year as the Centurions captured trophies at four meets and qualified Jeff Dubbs, Bill Baasch and Dave Baasch for the State tournament. These three wrestlers, as well as the rest of the team, seemed to consistently improve from week to week and to develop their skills very well as the year progressed. From the hours of jumping rope to the “joy” of circuit training and the ever-present motivational tapes, the wrestlers took on a look and attitude all their own. This attitude, combined with the hard work paid off where it counted - on the mat. The team of twen- ty-one wrestlers had thirteen young men with winning records. “Some of the kids came away really hungry for next year,” Coach Coe said. “The kids know now what it takes to be successful in the sport. These are good people, and they have given the wrest- lers who will follow them something good to try to surpass.” Jeff Dubbs, Dave Baasch, Bill Baasch Jeff. Dave, and Jeff receive their medals.
