Active! and Enthusiastic! are just a few of the words that could describe the 1974-1975 Student Council. The mini courses began, district convention was again hosted by Centura, we sponsored the annual Homecoming Dance and we sponsored the spring dance. Centura, for the second consecutive year, hosted the district 2 annual convention, the largest in the state. There were 32 schools in attendance at the district 2 Student Council convention, amounting to about 350 students. Ron Hull from the EducationalTelevision Network in Lincoln was the keynote speaker during the convention. Centura was very proud to have as district 2 secretary-treasurer, Ste- phanie Stroup. Toward the end of the year, another district conven- tion was held in which old officers retired and new ones were voted in. Centura had two candidates running for dis- trict offices. Patty Davis ran for vice-president and Lee Pur- dy ran for treasurer. Both girls came in very close and were up against some rough competition from larger schools. Mini courses also got under way this year, with 75 courses--over 100 sections. They, too, were a success. To stir a little action during the school year. Student Council sponsored a spring dance with Travis from Omaha. The 1974-1975 Student Council would like to wish the Best of Luck to the new 1975-1976 Student Council.
