It was the first band to use black light in its football halt-time shows, the first to use Swiss Flag Swingers, and the first and only band of its lcind in Georgia to go annually on extended concert tours. Since 7956 these tours have taken the band into Florida, Alabama, and South Carolina in addition to their extensive coverage ot' Georgia. The l958 tour alone covered 938 miles. This year, l959, the band will forego the annual tour in order to accept an invitation to play for the annual meeting ofthe Georgia Music Educators Association, which meets in conjunction with the Georgia Education Association in Atlanta, March 78 through 27. Because ofthe selection ot' high quality music and the professional manner in which it is pre- sented, the Cairo High School Band has been adjudged one of the best school musical organizations in this section ofthe country. aret Brannon.
