Cairo High is no exception. All through the year, when the hell rang at 3:13, we students took over, joining in activities that will never be forgotten. As grandparents, we shall relate our experience of '57-the autumn night theme of Homecom- ing, The Little Dog Laughed and Onions in the Stew, our plays, the weekly club meetings, assemblies, Spaghetti Sup- per, Shrine Football Banquet .,., A ll were anxious to take an aetive part-some as chairmen, others as committee mem- bers to decorate, to run errands, to serve refreshments, or to clean up. Things did not always run smoothly: wc had our problems -building the lxridge and gathering cattails for the Home- coming Dance, keeping the goldfish from slipping down the drain of the fountain, setting a date for the Spring Formal, striving for realistic effects in make-up for our plays, and try- ing desperately to meet Iigypti deadlines. These were teenage growing pains-and they were fun! Page 17
