Juniors filled the piggy bank We, the seniors of 1959, have, indeed, a great deal to be proud of. In the past four years, we have passed through perhaps the most wonderful part of our lives. We are proud to have had the privilege of spending these years at Cahokia. When at last we hang up our moceasins for the final time, we will remember sadly, but also happily, the good times we had during these four years. lt was not all fun, but through experience we learned there is a serious side to life, as well as the lighter side. As freshmen we first had the privilege of attend- ing tribal functions. But still, it was the seniors we looked up to and respected. Our turn would come. Our sophomore year is truly one we will never forget. We tossed our offering-a piece of wood- into the tribal fire and became full-fledged Comanf ches. We now had the responsibilities of tribesmen. Rhapsody in Blue, our junior prom, was carried out in blue and silver. This was our greatest group accomplishment thus far. But we knew our greatest accomplishments were yet to come. lkiany nights were spent during football and basketball seasons working in our trading post to finance our prom. At last we are seniors. We face the future with courage and high hopes. We are sorry to leave our beloved reservation, but we are even prouder to have reached the last rung of the ladder. For us, it is not the end, but the beginning, and as we say good-bye, we step aside to let the juniors become rul- ers of the reservation and of the Comanche heritage.
