On Septemher l. we put away our fishing poles and swim suits with some reluctance and hurried off to the old school house. Not until Septemher I8 did we hecome full-fledged Comanches. On that day we encountered varied situations and, although, we had dreaded Initiation, we were more than glad to elimh to a higher level on the Comanche totem pole. Now as official high-school memhers, we proceeded to work at trifling matters such as studying. Wle hegan to learn what made a hug a hug, what made a verh a verh, and what made a king a king. Ol course, for a sophomore there is never all work and no play. Being new at the game, we had to get acquainted with activities such as F.Il.A., FTA., Hand. and hlixed Chorus, to mention a few. Vl'e hegan to feel a little more grown up, At first we were afraid of juniors and seniors, but the priv- ilege of mixing with upperclassmen hroke the ice very rapidly. For the first tilne we were permitted to participate in liiglrsehool sports, in the election of student coun- cil representatives, in the choosing of cheerleaders. and in the election of queens for various events. llle sold magazines to start a class treasury of our own. Vile were proud of the fact that we sold more magaznnes than did the juniors. LVL- have worked and learned this year. VVe are looking forward to the time when we will he the privileged ones. Meanwhile, although we have not always heen as angelic as our masters might have liked, we have developed a true school spirit for Sen- ior High.
