So here we go again With a fight, fight, fight, fight Caernarvon High School, Fight! Mamie Stalnecker, a junior, replaced Mary Bannon in the Varsity Cheer- leading squad, during the early part of the year. Mazie has done a splendid job and is to be congratulated. This year,Caernarvon added to the cheerleading section a junior varsity squad. This squad, consisting of Polly Learned, Shirley Becker, Nancy Mountz and Doris Ann McFarland, boosted the Junior Varsity basketball girls and boys at each game. 48

GIRLS' ATHIEIIC ASSOCIATION 'fsnwm-n ..,,,N Mrs. Groff, Montgomery, Eshelman Bannon, Witwer One of the first organizations to be started at the beginning of every year, is the Girls' Athletic Association under the direction of M s. Dorothy Groff. All girls are asked to belong to the organization. Officers were elected during the first meeting of the association. Elsie Eshelman was elected as president, Betty Witwer, vice president, Mary Bannon, secretary, and Shirley Ann Montgomery, treasurer. Each year the Girls' Athletic Association members sell refreshments at the basketball games in order to earn money to purchase their own athletic equipment. This year the association purchased new basketball suits and warm- up jackets for the girls' basketball team, a medicine kit, megaphones, sweaters for junior cheerleaders, as well as athletic equipment. 47
