JUNIORS Hertzler, W. Fox, Hartz, L. Beam, Eshelman, B. Shirk, Patton, Wells Sparr, Witwer, Haas, Green, Lengel, Stalnecker, Conrad Howe Martin, Segner, Kurtz, Sagner, Hataloski, Hollinger, Fillman, R. Shirk The twenty-four juniors, under the direction of Kenneth Ness, have shown great ability in salesmanship by selling potato chips, pretzels and pickles during noon each day to both high school and elementary grades. The juniors also participated in selling Christmas cards to increase their funds. This class has shown its athletic ability in basketbell.Those who parti- cipated on the varsity team were: Lynn Sagner, Jack Fillman, Kenneth Kurtz, Leroy Beam, Richard Hertzler and Webster Fox. Of the girls, Elsie Eshelman, Mazie Stalnecker, Helen Glass, Shirley Sparr and Betty Shirk participated in this sport. Cheerleaders from the class of '53 are Betty Witwer,Shirley Sparr and Mazie Stalnecker. A few of the members of this class belong to the school orchestra. They are: Lynn Sagner, Elsie Eshelman, Shirley Segner, Shirley Sparr, Patricia Wells, Betty Shirk and Henry Hartz. Leading the band, from this group, are Betty Witwer, Mazie Stalnecker and Jean Lengel as drum majorettes. The juniors presented their class play, HWho's Batty Now?N on April 18 and their prom was held on May 3. 26

SOPHOMORES Klinger, Beyer, Wagner, Elsie Moyer, Beam, H. Stoltzfus, Mountz, Ethel Moyer Calvin Howe, Fox, Peck, Zimmerman, V. Stoltzfus, Garber, Stoltzfus Gring, Witman, Hay, Hartman, Martin, Weiler, D. Beam The class of '5h, with Roy Bilger as its adviser, returned this year with a new addition from Muhlenburg High School, Eugene Gring. This class has taken a large part in school activities and has shown good school spirit. The members have worked hard selling their chocolate milk and orange drink.They had a skating party at Ringing Rocks, which pro- vided entertainment for the classes and proved profitable to the sophomore class. The contributions to sports are William Hartman, Eugene Gring, James Witman, Elsie Moyer, Thelma Jane Martin and Audrey Fox. Nancy Mountz was chosen as a junior varsity cheerleader. The band has five members of the Sophomore class.They are Elsie Moyer, Ethel Moyer, James Witman, Joan Beyer and Nancy Mountz. 28
