Many similar songs and cheers could be heard as the Jayvees paraded down the floor, led by their Captain Russell Grove and Manager Carroll Wise. The hall cont in- ued to ring with shouts of encouragement as the boys warmed up . Suddenly the shrill whistle of the referee was heard, and dead stillness followed as the spectators anxiously awaited the tap off for the beginning of a thrilling game.
