Ten victories and twelve defeats smmarize the re- sults of the 1938 court season. These games were sched- uled in both out-door and in-door leagues. Before those leagues started, the Varsity played several practice games with Birdsboro and the Caernarvon Alumni team. The Caernarvon basketball squad closed its Tri- County League season, with a final rating of fourth place. Many similar songs and cheers could be heard as the Jayvees paraded down the floor, led by their Captain Russell Grove and Manager Carroll Wise. The hall cont in- ued to ring with shouts of encouragement as the boys warmed up . Suddenly the shrill whistle of the referee was heard, and dead stillness followed as the spectators anxiously awaited the tap off for the beginning of a thrilling game. Nevertheless, we are certain that our future basketball squad will be just as successful as its predecessors, with the contirmation of the stellar playing of all its members.
