Never Leave It Till It’s Done, 12 Be the Labor Great or Small... Do It Well or Not at All. Seniors! We’re finally seniors! So much to do and so little time to do it in. The first big thing that went on our calender was taking senior pictures. What a harrowing experience that was. Then football season came and went. Our record was great. Another thing to put in- to our Memories. The senior class did a lot during this time. Our candidate won the Homecoming Queen race. That was the third year in a row. 1982 finally arrived and so did the much coveted tee-shirts that we ordered. Another memorable event. Winter was a busy time for all of us. We were selecting things and running around. What a fun time! 82 PROVES TO BE A SUCCESS- FUL YEAR FOR THE SENIOR GLASS OF UNFORGETTABLE FACES The year dwindling down to an end, we prepared ourselves for that last leg. A play was chosen to be performed. We chose our can- didate to run in the Miss CHS pageant. We even heard ug- ly rumors about our prom. But when the time came for these once-in-a-lifetime events, we had a grand time. Now we’re putting on our caps and gowns and getting ready to take that last step; that step into adulthood. Always remembering that Cache High was the sculpture that molded us into what we are. 15 1 STUDENT LIFE ... the part of a school year that makes it more enjoyable, relaxing, and memorable . . . all the planning and work for extra-curricular activities to make them more successful and fun . . . and yet in the seriousness of the moment, a time for concentration and study for that all-important exam! STUDENT Though we know the challenge is always before us, we take the time to smile and enjoy the things we love .... just plain old relaxing .... visiting with friends .... listening to music .... or celebrating that all-important victory! 19 STUDIOUS FflGES 20 To everything there is a season ... a time for joy . . . laughter . . . and yes, even studying — CHS students strive toward the single purpose of education — that is learning . . . achieving . . . pursuing in order to reach that ultimate goal. 21 PR0UDFflEES With thoughts of graduation and end-of-school proms, our minds begin to reminisce. We look back upon early school years, friends, teachers and the past twelve years and hope we’ve prepared ourselves for the world ahead of us. We pause and give thanks to those who helped make it all possible! These were the peo- ple who made the school year successful — teachers, ad- ministrators and sup- port personnel; they all deserve a big hand! ?Y o -ADMINISTRATION- LEADERS WAD STRIVE “T0 MARE THE BEST - BETTER. For Juniors, thoughts of class rings and the Jr. Sr. From made the year exciting. Sophomores look back at Driver’s Education and wonder why backing and parallel parking were so hard. As Freshmen in Jr. High, things seemed to fall into place and got a little less complicated. Eighth and seventh graders still intrigued with the move from homeroom classes and lunch lines found school a bit more enlightening. UNDEBCUSSMEH. STUDENT EBUNGIb Raising school spirit and pride was the objective of the 1981-82 Cache High Student Council, and they accomplished this well by sponsoring basketball homecoming and festivities. Jenny Sperr was crowned Homecoming Queen to climax the homecoming activities. Next on Student Council’s agenda was the Miss Cache High School Pageant. The planning and preparation started weeks ahead and continued right up to that night. The pageant was noted for running so smoothly, thanks to the dedicated Student Council sponsor and pageant director, Sue King. This year, the Cache High Student Council became a member of the Oklahoma Association of Student Councils, an organization that promotes leadership through student government and holds several workshops to assist local chapters in projects and suppling the councils with new ideas. Cache lost to a tough state-ranked Apache, 14-0. Cache only managed 75 yards on the ground and 11 in the air, with Apache getting 178 and 58 respectively. Rebounding from the previous week’s loss, Cache came back and defeated the Tipton Tigers by a score of 14-0. Cache was led in scoring by Sophomore Tim Zimmer, who scored both T.D.’s. Cache led the statistics with 14 first downs against Tipton’s 7. Cache had a whopping 234 yards rushing and held Tipton to only 28. The Cordell Blue Devils with explosive Chris Rainbolt, defeated the Bulldogs by a score of 28-7. Cordell raced for an early T.D. with Cache coming up with one of their own. Cordell capitalized on Bulldogs mistakes in the second half to score three more times before the final buzzer sounded. In a tough defensive contest, Cache had a struggle against defense-minded Frederick. Cache was unable to get onto the board even though they made it toward the end zone several times. Frederick was able to score with a touchdown and a field goal. 109 «HLL-DISTRIET Back Row, L. to R.: Mike Figeroa, Loui Pohawpatchoko, Greg Pikes, Roy Collins, Coach Hunt, Front Row: Ty Nichols, Tim Zimmer, Jerry Dodd, Rene Torres. ALL-AREA: L. to R.: Tim Zimmer, Mike Figueroa, Roy Collins, Greg Fikes. Cache proving their offensive might, romped on Crooked Oak at Crooked Oak by a score of 56-0. Ronnie Castlebury scored several times in the first half with Greg Fikes connecting with Rene Torres for another T.D. in the second quarter. Jerry Dodd intercepted a pass of the Ruf-Nex and Tim Zimmer ran a 35-yarder for 6 points. Lyle Cable kicked the extra point. Rene Torres again scored in the fourth quarter and Mark Fikes connected to Steve Morrow to cinch the win over Crooked Oak. 480 yards were rolled up by the Cache Bulldogs as the Cache team grasped a 50-0 win over the Grandfield Bearcats. A stiff Bulldog defense allowed Grandfield only 77 yards total offense. Ronnie Castlebury scored two quick T.D.’s with the first quarter score being 12-0. Tim Zimmer scored with Lyle Parker kicking the extra point in the third quarter. Tim Zimmer scored several other T.D.’s to finally cage the Bearcats. In a rain-drenched game, the Bulldogs shot the Elgin Owls out of the sky by a score of 25-0. If it weren’t for a few Bulldog mistakes, Cache would have scored even more, but Elgin improved in their second year. A dropped punt gave the Owls a chance to score but the strong Bulldogs defense held them to no T.D.’s. 110 THE 1981 82 SEASON... A WINNING YEAR! Bulldogs upset the Walters Blue Devils and the prediction makers when they won 14-6 over Walters. Tim Zimmer scored on a 10-yard run but the extra point failed and another field goal also failed later in the first half. It was close right down to the wire. Walters scored on a 32-yard pass play in the third quarter, making the Bulldogs bring a come from behind win with a run by Tim Zimmer. In another offensive triumph, the Comanche Indians were stomped by the Bulldogs by a score of 53-6. Outstanding plays were made by all the members of the team including those off the sidelines and the younger members. One lone T.D. was managed by the Comanche Indians. With this win, the Bulldogs went to their second straight District Championship in Class A. In the regional opener, the Cache Bulldogs met the ferocious Cordell Blue Devils. Even though Cache had upset on their minds, the Cordell team, matched with Chris Rainbolt proved too much when the Blue Devils beat the Bulldogs by a score of 26-6. Ill cJR.
