ski club and triple S club One Supported, The Other Sported A new club started by a new teacher, Mr. Bob Lawrence, is the Ski Club. Many of the members come from the swim team. Money was donated to the Ski Club by the swim team from the swimathon to help start the new club. Funds went to help their planned ski trip to Mammoth in April. This year Cabrillo's Triple S Club sponsored an American Indian boy, and an African girl through the Save the Children Federation. The money they earned supplied these two with badly needed shoes and clothing. Mrs. Camelia Williamson is the club sponsor. Although one of Cabrillo's quietest clubs, the Triple S is devoted to helping people.

The Science Club made and put up signs for tree's and plants. They also kept the park in its finest state. The members also had projects of their own which they made up themselves. They did their own research and conclusions on them. The club raised money to visit the University of California in San Diego for three days to tour the campus. They also looked over the newest science equipment. The Chemistry Club was active in the year of 72-73 by putting on a Gee-Wiz Show for science classes with other classes if the teacher permitted. The club tutored enrolled chemistry students for a test that was taken in Los Angeles given by the Chemical Association. To raise money for trips they supported themselves by having car washes. l 59

mat maids and multi-media They Acted Through Communication and Service Verbal and non verbal communication is the reason for the existence of multi- media. The group as a whole is not just interested in studying different types of communication, but in actually relating to other people. This is accomplished by making 8mm films, slides, tapes. Also, by using sign language and body movements. The Image reveals the groups genius in showing the different aspects of communication. Mat Maids were a vital assistance to the wrestling program. Taking times, scores and announcing were a few of many jobs that Mat Maids rendered. Decorating the exercise room to promote team moral was done every week by a team of Mat Maids.
