madrigjals Cabrillo Vocal Elite Raised joyful Noisesn The Cabrillo High School Madrigals 'raised many joyful noises' this year throughout the state, as they performed for various groups from Lompoc to Catalina. The Christmas concert was enjoyed by all who attended. A combination of old traditional music, and young exciting voices, blended together to produce a sound fitting of the name Madrigal. A trip in the spring added to the lore of the group as they went to State competition on Catalina Island representing Cabrillo and the musical talent of the Lompoc area. .ss service The 'Key' To Happiness The Cabrillo Key Club this year was an active club, helping out the school and community in service projects ranging from March of Dimes to United Fund and all the way to fench watch! all league football players and chess team Brains And Brawn Turn Out Champs 7 7 he 7 . . Cabrillo's Star Studded football team was honored by having six of its Senior members chosen as All League players for the school year 1972-1973. Al Trucker Driesbach was honored by being named All League for the second ear in a row. Steve Klitz was also honored two years straight, being selected All Lea ue Honorable Mention last year. C. A. Anderson, John Cantrell, Jeff Holt and Allen Quisenberry joined Driesbach and Klitz this year for the pigskin honors. The dedication of the members of the Chess Team proved worthwhile as they check-mated the other schools of the Northern League capturing the league championship. Daily practice and persistence provided the Chess Team with an unblemished record as they were never defeated. Under the dedicated coaching and guidance of math department chairman, Mr. Bernard McGivney, Cabrillo's Chess Team can be roud of the outstanding effort put forth ciilring the school year 1972-1973 . . .
