fire and rain Alumni Helped To Pursue Spirit You take the Friday night game, the crowning of a queen, and the grand finale - the dance. Add them up and what do you get? Homecoming. That magical time of the year when for once the girls can share the 'limelight' on Friday night. When you can get dressed up and not feel funny at a school dance. And where, once again, you can renew old friendships with Conquistadores of past years. Yes, we all agree that Homecoming in itself is a memorable time of the year. The Assembly held on Friday afternoon was a great success because of the large number of alumni in attendance. A group of '72 graduates featured a skit that had the spectators in uncontrollable laughter. Cheerleaders and Songleaders from former years did 'their thing' proving once again that the Cabrillo spirit lingers on even after graduation. Q ' K Q 5 .. 3, new' Q Cubrillo .lata U06 Homecoming is a tradition. So, too, is the winning of thevhomecoming football game by the Conquistadores. They smeared Arroyo Grande 24-14. During the game halftime the queen candidates were presented on the field and the great moment came . . . the name of the 1972-73 Homecoming Queen was announced. Mixed with tears and smiles Dale Goodwin was presented with a bouquet of roses befitting her title QUEEN. 'Fire and Rain' the song which was the theme for the 1973 Homecoming says in part, I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend. But such was not the scene. Dancing, laughter, and lots of talking spread throughout the uniquely decorated cafeteria as alumnus renewed friendships and remembered 'old timesf Once again Homecoming was here and soon over, to be anticipated next year.
