With their culture, their customs and their modes of living, France has often been regarded as a land of excitement. This year's French Club tried to capture some of that excitement in many of their activities. Under the supervision of Mr. Rick Johnson, Jane Grady, the president of the French Club, and the rest of the club members had their own interpretation of the holiday Mardi Gras, and planned their festivities much in the same manner that the real Mardi Gras is conducted. The club also took a Spring Field Trip, went to Jacques and Suzannes for dinner, and made a visit to Harding College for the Annual Language Festival. The 1978-79 FBLA membership doubled in size over last year. The total membership increased to 82. The activities of the club also increased. In October the club attended a district workshop on the ASU-Beebe campus. Knowledge and ideas were shared by members throughout the district. In December members published the programs for the Cabot Invitational Holiday Tournament. One-half of the proceeds were given to the March of Dimes. The gift amounted to 5250. The club will participate in the district eliminations to be held in March on the UCA campus in Conway. Winners The.l978-79' FBLA officers are: Dayna Barger - Secretary, Gerry Waddell - will then compete on the State level in President, Cindy Hubby - Treasurer, Lyn Fruchey - Reporter, Kay Clark - April' Sponsors for the club are Mr. Lloyd Beasley, Mrs. Kathryn Shain, Mrs. JoAnn White, and Mrs. Lynn Hefner. Historian, Linda Craig - Vice President, and Philip Clark - Parliamentarian.
