Ii WSWS ill Girls Cross Country l979 12D Pan thers record holder board Q31 Coach Ron Johnson-head coach of track team. l979 began with mixed feelings because suddenly everything had changed. Losing a coach they dearl loved only to break in a new one. They ,- sent out to do a good job and looking ' forward to keep good memories of thc year. The girls worked hard to get on the team to compete against other schools with girls who were good also. Track is a big event in Cabot High School to the girls, show their ability to ,J A1.., run and to win for their school. All the girls gave 10096 of their Panther spirit to the team. THERS... Q21 Tammy Heffner broke the 880 run district record. 135 Coach Cothern-head track coach. 145 Susie Sta- ton placed 4th in cross country race. Q51 Senior high girls track team in 1978. Thc 1978 Girls SAAA District meet was held at Morrilton. The Cabot girls left a little nervous and came back with the excitement of being District Champs. The girls worked real hard that year to win the meet and to come home with a win to Cabot High School. Tammy Heffner broke the 880 record, Diane Cunningham broke the high jump record, and the 880 relay team Carrie Hudson, Diane Thomas, Lavonna Kennedy and Gwen Odom breaking the 880 relay record, .rr ,N f.
