Cabot businessmen called it The biggest event the town has ever had . A three-day we're Back celebration of the recovery of Cabot after the 1976 tornado which killed five, injured scores more, and damaged or destroyed some 60 businesses and 200 homes, began September 29. Friday's activities included a homecoming parade, spaghetti supper, high school football homecoming game, alumni reception and dance. A children's play arts and crafts show, square dancing, performances by local groups and individuals, a puppet show and jig dancing were held Saturday and merchants planned special sales. Saturday night featured street dances with The Common Good and The Craig O'Neil Disco Show. Governor David Pryor and Miss Arkansas, Naylene Vureens, dedicated Cabot's new Community Service Center Sunday. Open houses at the Center, the new Westside Elementary School and the Cabot Church of Christ followed. After the March 29 tornado the town adopted the slogan, Cabot - Coming Back Strong.
