CIVICS CLUB if 9 5 6 The fall and spring of I976-77 school year was full of activity for the students ofthe Civics Club who planned a trip in the summer to Washington, D.C. There were car washes, dances, and light bulb sales held to finance the project. Thirty-six students and ten adults were involved in the excur- sion. The highlight of the five day trip was visiting with Senator Dale Bumpers. The trip proved to be education- al as well as enjoyable. Plans for another trip for the summer of 1979 were being made. -THE I.FlW- This year I5 students formed a club to study, debate, and test the law . They were mainly involved with supreme court deci- sions including Bakke and violation of the Bill of Rights. These students include: Shann Nobles, Alan Howell, Grover Carpen- ter, Alan Ogle, Donna Wilson, Bill Young, Clayton Fry, Robert Watts, Paul Thurston, Keith Perkins, Shane Lawson, Teresa Kallam, David Stevens, Kenny Eifling, Betty Gilliam, sponsor.
