Our senior year opens with a bang. 650 Freshmen swarm the campus during Orientation 1979. Eighty-three sponsors have trained for three days in Sag Har- bor, preparing to open the arms ofthe C.W. Post family and wel- come the newcomers Hillwood Commons is dressed in its finest attire, showing oft its award win- ning architectural design. The throbbing sounds of rock and dis- co bands pulsate and rejuvinate the campus after a quiet summer. Forty students in all begin a year of PEEC that makes the organiza- tion a most important one, direct- ly integrating administrators with influential students. The confer- ence is immediately after Orienta- tion and develops the resource of talented, loyal Posties to lead us into a great year. Our first home football game is against East Stroudsburg. Our lO-O lead gets us all cheering, but unfortunately our adversaries earn l 7 points while we watch on. Our l7-lO loss to East Strouds- burg is not alone. Soccer and Hockey share the misery of de- feat, but the spirit of the fans does not wane. We grin and bear it. More events occur outside of sports . . . 47
