Dodi ation: This year our school celebrates its twenty-fifth anniversary. The Editorial Staff of Opticon '80 felt it imperative to dedicate this year's book to a person who best represented the growth, maturation, and efficacy of our school. Alvin C.W. Bahnsen is a member of our coIlege's first faculty and throughout his teaching career has become a friend and inspirator for countless students and new administrators. He is our first Director of Student Activities, holding that position from September l955 until .lune l962. He has initiated the development of the Summer School program here at C.W. Post and has served as Registrar for one academic year. As one can see, the Professor's credits to C.W. Post are unmatchable. Bahnsen designed the Post College emblem that we use today. In addition, his middle initials C.W. are not coincidental. As a result of his personal attachment to the school, Prof. A.C.W. Bahnsen legally changed his name to include these commemorative letters. Men who are as instrumental to the viability of an institution as Professor Bahnsen has been are not likely to come our way very often. May we take this timely opportunity on behalf of the Post family to exalt such a man and extend our thanks.
