Dom Anile and C.W. Post Football - the two have been synonymous since l957. Anile was captain of the first two football teams Post ever had, in i957 and l958. Over the years, Anile has seen Post football prosper. Head Football Coach here at Post since l968, Anile finished this past football season with a 84-34-l record overall. Statistics show Anile ranked second in the na- tion among active Division ll and lll coaches with ten or more years of ser- vice. Over the last decade, his Pioneer teams have compiled a .740 winning percentage, the fourth best winning percentage in the country. Anile has been an influential part of all 22 seasons of Post football. He became head coach after serving as offensive coordinator under Coach Joe Scanella. Since becoming a full-time staff member in l96l, Anile has served in many capacities on the Post campus. Included among them are physical education instructor, director of in- tramurals, and head baseball coach. Anile graduated from Brooklyn's New Utrecht High School. There he lettered for three years as an offensive guard on the football team as a base- ball catcher. His football playing career con- tinued at Stetson University until after one year the sport was dropped, and Anile transferred to Post. Here at Post, Anile was captain of Post's first two football teams in i957 and l958. During his stay at Post, Anile has coached his first-team college division all-Americans - Gary Wichard and John Mohring. Anile has also seen l4 of his players selected by professional teams. Dom Anile has left C.W. Post be- cause of supposed budget conflicts, and is now the offensive coordinator at Columbia University. Anile has been an integral part of Pioneer sports since their inception, and his presence will be missed by all of us who have had the pleasure of knowing him and playing for him. Good-Bye Dom Anile . . . and Thanks for the memories.

SGCCGF Like several others, the Soccer Team sees its Coach Alex Bernstein leave Post as well. With a record of 5-9-3 overall, the players lose only to Kings Point in the Metropolitan Con- ference East Championship. For lack of sufficient funds, salary and support from the administration, Coach Bern- stein resigns from his position after three years. Coach George Vargas of NYU assumes his job. Young mem- bers of the team make the Metropoli- tan Conference All-Stars, indicative of the promising l98O-8l season under Vargas' direction. 138
