In the loft category, Tim Dowd la winner in last year's contestl may have switched rooms and roomates, but he teamed with Mauro Belli in Riggs l22 to win the space utilization prize. Living in a triple can be a tight squeeze, especially if the room is only big enough for two people. Pat Tif- fany, Dana-jo Pearl and Lorraine Ruiz of Brookville l33 accomplished this feat and were given honorable men- tion for space utilization. Last year, a room with an A-frame loft captured the overall prize. This year, Terri DiRaimondi and Dori Bruno of Queens 219 took one step further with a loft constructed with on A-frame support system and a cantilever bed structure that got them the unique- ness award. Stacey Reddington and Elena Petrone of Riggs 250 and Donette Ferguson and Nellida Hem- mings of Post 2E2 were given honor- able mention. Everyone knows that the rooms in the quad leave little to be desired. However, Fronk Alston and Scott Muller of Suffolk 223 dis- approved that theory and were given the award for charm. Tony Jackson and Ron Harris of Riggs 8 were given honorable mention. The winners were honored at the Cereal Bowl Dinner at the Top of the Commons and were given customed engraved mugs and pictures of their room that were presented by the Bet- ter Dorms and Garden Man himself, housing director Ken Peress. 113
