Everyone, of course, was dis- appointed but the Free Concert made up for it. Winter Weekend also had its troubles, when one of the Letter- men collapsed the day before. ln their place we saw another great show put on by the Happenings, the wit of Jackie Vernon, and a sur- prisingly exciting performance by Lori Burton, a relative unknown. Sat- urday ended the weekend with an evening spent in the Gay 9O's with entertainment by Your Father's Moustache Banio Band and W. C. Fielcls' movies. Ot course, beer and peanuts were a maior part also. Many changes have occurred at Post during our four years at Post. What will future bring? .................L, 247

And to The Victors go the spoils. But we have felt in our senior year the greatest pressures of our four years. Where do we go from here? The army or Canada? Post is acquir- ing a liberal attitude iT had not known before. Controversy exists especially with such Topics as The Viet Nam War, upcoming National Elections and The Brooklyn Centre situation. The SGA Lecture Series brought F. Lee Bailey who lectured on The atrocities of our court system, and Amanda Ambrose who lamented Civil Rights and other issues. We are becoming more aware and looking The part. Micro miniskirts and beards are fashionable, girls run- ning around on Hondas, and The com- muter's cafe looks like something out of a Magical Mystery Tour. We have changed and no longer have The unity we once had, but loy- alty to Post is still uppermost in our thoughts. A feeling we are sure that will always be with us. We are ma- ture, and our ideals have broadened, we no longer care about our image, but are real and without pretenses. We aren'T quite ready for The rocking chair but we feel it's on its way. We've learned to distinguish between friends and acquaintances. We're in- dividuals with obiective outlooks. These four years we could never re- 246 . I - ' peat, but will never forget. The first part of the year for the senior girls was spent in various motels, and facing that 7:00 bus iust made the day. After two months of explaining to strangers why we lived in a motel, the Lodges were completed. ALMOST -except for a few details like elec- tricity way. right ings, hom Sc man War the had by We

X I i ' H .N . . ,c.. .X nv I ilvwt? 'fx . st cs ,l..Si Dear Fellow Students, lt has been our singular goal with OPTICON '68 to present a book which meaningfully depicts a total view of Post. When considering the elusiveness which has become so much a part of our world, the importance of a yearbook that will accurately recall memories of our college liv6S has been the purpose of the staff of OPTICON '68, It would be gratifying if we could say that we had de- veloped an entirely unprecedented format, but while it is not unique, we have produced a yearbook, OPTICON '68, different from any that Post has yet seen. We have worked hard, and sometimes so hard that we lost sight of our aspirations. During these times our goal has seemed unattainable, but we feel we have overcome them. So far this has been our yearbook, we hope it will now become yours. Sincerely yours, gall'-c isiyslco Sam Agostino Editor-in-Chief, Opticon '63
