Orientation began . . . and equipped with green arm bands and glasses in our hands, we greeted the new frosh-all l,000 of them. Our sermons were drowned in beer, and we proceeded to show them what college life was like, as we staggered back to campus to face the conse- quences. Yes, we were mature upper- classmen! Hofstra introduced them- selves by lighting, in the middle of the night, the bonfire that the frosh had worked so hard to build. We got back into the groove of exams, papers and those necessary all-night cramming sessions, and life went on. Sophomore girls were for- gotten as the frosh girls took over. The girls were left with vague memo- ries of a 4-T ratio-and Dates! Pledg- ing for us was big that semester- along with overnites. The favorite girls' sport was hitching. The Manhas- set Motor Lodge was High Society, and the Lamp Post, Teresa's, and Stango's were where we dined. That was the year of the blackout. Would you believe Midterm week? Remem- ber the panty raid that night-which, as usual, almost came off, but the Burns guard shot himself in the foot! Then there was Dean Linde CG.I. Joel at the hairdressers. We were involved once again with the class advisory board, and the Pep Club was initiated. We were in charge of decorating for the Anniversary Ball -The theme Grecian Mist. Michael was chairman, and because of a iob ..,,...-- --....- .... ......,..,.....,.,..,-.-.....,..1.............-..,a,J.-+--.-,. well done, another tradition was es- tablished. Homecoming was at the Statler Hilton-or was it the Manhat- tan?-And our class instituted the the Hoxies, along with the June Fail- ure Dancers. The Copa has never seen a show as Mickie put on. Pauline, where's your laundry?-and Where is love, Passion Flower? Peter was at the piano, and we heard Who can l Turn To, and we heard all about Money, Money, Money and how it helps in getting your kid into school. Success went to our heads . . . Along with the beer at the cast party. The cake looked good on the curtains- So well that the Manhasset Motor Lodge will never forget us. And holiday dinners. Then there were the Follies, or were they the Wiskits ? lt was off-off-off Broadway-But we were a success and it was all in iest, wasn't it, Dr. Ritt? We were sold out as the curtain went up on Food, Glorious Food, and I Want To be in Pictures. Ralph and Bill followed as ,-A Susan, Alita Flemings will never for- get you-while Mrs. Lynch took it all in stride-along with everything else! Remember missing ArT Class and playing in The Tree house? Weeiuns and madras were in ThaT year along wiTh whiTe levi's. Remember when skirTs were longer and everyone wore her own hair if-'J . . . and geTTing stoned meanT geTTing drunk? And who will ever forgeT Frank Colona appearing aT Greek Sing in diapers and The dugouT in The old baseball field. Could we possibly forgef The old proverb Look To The lefT and To The righT, only one of you will graduaTe. Who ever heard of a 50W dropouT raTe'? Linda Braun you Turn me on . . .
