The Intramural and Recreation Sports Program at C. W. Post College has been developed to pro- vide every student in college the opportunity to participate in some form of group or individual sport. It is designed primarily for that maiority of students who do not participate in the athletic program of the college. Intramurals provide the opportunity for physical development, the at- tainment of some degree of proficiency in various sports, exercise, and just plain fun which will serve as a basis for health and leisure time activity throughout the adult life of the students who par- ticipate. The hope of the program is to encourage sports for all, through participation, interest and cooperation. The Intramural Program at Post consists of teams represented by fraternities, sororities, and inde- pendents. The program offers the students a vari- ety of I6 sports. The competition for the All Sports Trophy has been keener this year than ever be- fore. Both fraternity and independent teams have been competing for this award, and are attempting to dethrone last year's all-sport champions: Sigma Beta Epsilon fraternity and the independent Bananas team. The '67-'68 student Intramural Program has grown from 293 to 3,000 participants in a period of four years, and through the concerted effort of Intramural Director Michael Patrick, the program will continue to grow on the Post campus.
