The schedule This year was one of The toughest The Pioneers faced. Besides Long Island University, Man- hattan College, a very possible recipient of a National Invitational Tournament bid and winner of over 20 games, downed The Pioneers 91-73. Here The backfield combo of Jim McDonald and Ed Johnson were able to hold All- American Luther Green to only Two points in the first half. The Pioneers bounded back with wins over Central Con- necticut fsetting a record high-game point total of T07 pointsl, and over-rated Stony Brook and Muhlenberg. The Pioneers, after Two consecutive losses to Delaware and Kings of Pennsylvania, came back To reel off five straight victories, including a 21-point rolling up of Queens College and a 23-point bulge against City College. .VlcDonald hits for two, Post fights for possession. v
