The 1967 football season ended with OUV hardhitting ball club achieving a winning record f 5-4 Under Coach Joseph Scannella, the Pioneers for the first time in 11 years had TWO straight winning Seasons' They placed Tenth In the Lambert Cup competition, in which they had d osition last year. . He was the leading scorer with a season total of 64 points. Tim Carr set four records. ln his single-game mark, he made 41 attempts against Hofstra. His season records were 124 completions and 237 attempts. He connected on the longest pass play in Pioneers history: 86 yards. Tom Bird, a sophomore, kicked 14 consecutive extra points. Senior defensive halfback Dick Lind- say equalled two interception re- cords with five for the season and ten in his career: Top receivers were Jim Sybil and Lefty Goldstein. With Joe Diange as their coach, the freshman football team completed their second consecutive undefeated season with a 3-0 record. Quarter- back Dave Ericks led the team to victory over Adelphi, 33-26, Hofstra, 20-0, and Bordentown Military Insti- tute, 20-14. Ericks made four touch- downs, Joe Donnelly and Bob Fiore were the leading scorers with 12 points each.
