Their number increased from an average of 20 to 40 active sisters. This increase in strength neces- sitated an increase in support. Thus, the sisters of Phi Delta entrusted their loyalty and traditions to a strong national fraternity, Sigma Delta Tau, on Sunday, February 19, 1967. Once one of the oldest sororities on the C. W. Post campus Qest. Nov. 27, 1956j, Phi Delta became the baby of S.D.T. when they became the Beta Theta Pledge Chapter. Naturally, many changes followed. The sorority flower, no longer a white rose became a golden tea rose. The colors of I44 purple and white became cafe au lait and old blue. The fawn disappeared but the ideals for which it stood are still cherished. Some very important things did not change however. Sorority, no matter what the affiliation, creates a powerful and eternal bond between girls. Sister- hood, which means love and loyalty to each other forever, has not changed. If it has, it has only developed into greater and more sincere meaning among all the girls of S.D.T. They are not Phi Delts anymore-but Sig Delts, and the flam- ing torch which now guides them can only lead them to a bright and success- ful future on the C. W. Post campus.
