The Pioneers, embarking on their second season un- der the capable direction of head coach Joe Scanella, displayed many bright spots this year. While the team showed some growing pains, the pro type offense em- phasized by coach Scanella and asst. coach Bill Ashley is materializing very rapidly after two seasons of very heavy schedules. This year's squad has many records of which they can boast. Their offense was highlighted by the fine receiving of junior Tom Cassesse, who broke all re- ceiving records this year. Bob Archer once again dis- played his running ability by breaking the rushing record, previously held by Terry Pratt. The outlook for the future of C. W. Post7s football team was brightened considerably this year by the powerful freshman team. Combining a versatile back- field with a strong line, the uLittle Pioneers showed great spirit and tremendous ability. One of 'the greatest moments for any college foot- ball player is the opportunity to continue to play foot- ball at a higher level. This year two of Postis graduat- ing seniors were signed by professional teams. Quarter- back Jim Leclair was signed by the San Francisco 4-9ers and Tackle Lucian Veneziano was signed by the New York Giants Football Team. Although coach Scanella is sure to feel the loss of his ten graduating senior players, with the strong sup- port of experienced juniors and seniors and the highly capable group of freshmen he recruited, Post College can look forward to an even better football season next year. . .
