Beta Beta Chi Seated: L. to R.: R. Hoff, A. Camps, M. Morse, R. Soriano, C. Brown, J. Suchman. Beta Beta Chi is the newest sorority 0n the C. W Post College campus. The sorority was formed last yeai in October, with nine charter members. Within a ma- tively short time the sorority has progressed rapidly to become an extremely active and well established Organ. ization in the school. Thus, all the members are active in the extra-curricular program of the campus, some hold major offices in the organizations to which they belong: judicial board, the school newspaper, the Womenls League, the chorus and various language clubs. As a group, the sorority has done a great deal of charity work with the St. Francis Cardiac Home in Garden City, and the Glen Cove Community Hospital. Beta Beta Chi has successfully conducted a number of fund raising raffles. Since its founding in the fall of 1960, Beta Beta Chi has been striving for a goaleto become a national sorority. In the spring of 1962, the ambition will become a reality, when Beta Beta Chi becomes afhliated with, the fourth largest national sorority, Alpha Z Delta. The present officers of the sorority are: Maxine Morse, President; Annette Camps, Vice President; Bobbie Soriano, Secretary; Renee Hoff, Treasurer; and Cathy Brown, Historian and Cynthia Lenox, Pledge Mistress. Seated: L. to R.: I. Juliber, J. Lamstein, E. Sonaband, J. Gersh, R. Chester. Standing: L. to R.: G. Korman, J. Kuchler, D. Schwartz, D. Schwartz, L. Speier, L. Rappaport, C. Celb, L. Gilbert, H. Goldman. Delta Chi Omega was the first sorority founded on the Post campus in May, 1956. Now we are very proud that we are the first sorority on the campus to be in- ducted into a national sorority. On February 9, 1962 Delta Chi became a colony of Alpha Epsilon Phi sorority. Since our founding day we have taken immense strides and have expanded and grown from the original six Charter members to a total of forty seven sisters, as of February 1962. The sisters pride themselves on being active in campus activities as well as pursuing their own social and academic programs. We have tried to participate in school activities as well as those in the community. The sisters annually sponsor the Mr. and Miss Post Delta Chi Omega contest, this year the proceeds of the contest went to buy Christmas gifts for the children of St. Francis Hospital. We have entertained the men and women of the Uniondale Home for the Aged and donated our services at the Burwood Home for the Blind. At school we participate in the carnival weekend and built a hoat representing a Southern Plantation, with Phi Sigma Delta Fraternity, for the Homecoming weekend. In keeping with their purpose the sisters have participated in many phases of college life, the year- book, handbook, as cheerleaders and most major organizations on campus. Mrs. Ruth Norton is our sorority advisor and has been a great asset to us through the years.
