This group is now known as the National Honorary Society in Psychology. To qualify for mem- bership a student must be a junior or senior majoring in psychology with a cumulative average of 1.70 and a 11B,1 average in his psychology courses. Although recognition of their past service is thus achieved, their real jobs just begin at this point. Post College in the Spring of 1959, this society is the initial step towards the estab- lishment of a chapter of Phi Beta, Kappa, National Honor Society. The society seeks to recognize those juniors and seniors in the liberal arts and sciences who excel in ability, general scholarship, character and con- duct. Phi Beta are the Greek letters for the words ttPhilomatheia Hegemonttea love of learning, the guide -the motto of the society. Membership is open to all faculty members who belong to Phi Beta Kappa.
