In this, the seventh year of our college, we recognize the great loss of our President, Admiral Richard Lansing C onolly U.S.N. ret. Many of us at Post had known the Admiral only as a man whom we saw at lectures, state occasions and at times about the campus. For those of us who were better acquainted with him and who worked closely with him, he was a man who will remain in our memories. The Admiral presided over university alfairs during the formidable years of Post and this alone will insure the perpetuation of his name. It is indeed unfortunate that Admiral Conolly met such a tragic end before he was given the Chance to culminate his successful career with a well earned retirement. We, the editors of OPTICON 1962, acknowledge the loss of our President and F riehd, and dedicate this page to the perpetuation of his memory. Admiral and Mrs. Conolly at Mrs. Conollyls induction into Sigma Alpha Theta Sorority.
