' Winning the Metropolitan Intercollegiate Wres- thng Championship, Postts wrestling team copped its most successful season ever. tour The Post .wrestlers completely dominated the Pionnament Wthh was held at Conolly Gym. The DiCkeeers had five champions: Bill Serynek U282, Wrestle 11ny t 15D, who also won the outstanding 070 r award, Joe Tngarozza U67L Mike Spetco U30 and Gene.N1edg1elski thwo. Bob Serynek h 2 and Sal Glanetta U9D took second place onors. tinge 311211? the regular season the squad faced a COH' at th ho ormldable opponents. The two losses came e ands of Bloomsburg 24-0, and West Chester Wrestling State 15-13-two top Pennsylvania squads. The teams best matches were sparkling triumphs against previously undefeated and nationally ranked Wilkes College 22-7, Hofstra 22-6, and Kings Point 22-5. With these latter two victories the Pioneers won the Mythical Long Island Collegiate Wrestling Cham- pionship. The team also defeated such top notch teams as Fairleigh Dickinson, Montclair State, N.Y.U. and Cortland State. At the Wilkes Tournament, Gene Niedgielski took a second place trophy as he lost to Mark Weber, North- westernts Big Ten champ, in the fmals.

Deteria, M. Benvenutti Bowling In spite of the fact that the bowling team lost co- caPtain Marco Benedetto and Ron Ludwin, they man- aged to have a winning season. The ttKeglerstt were qlhte erraticethey were one of the few local teams that could boast the fact that everyone could go over 200 on a given night. But bursts of inconsistency COSt them an outstanding season. Their schedule in- ClUdCd such formidable opponents as Pratt, St. Johns, St. Frances and Queens. tMarco Benedetto and An- thony Iarrobino were captains, and due to the fact that the season was still in progress when the publica- t10n 0f the yearbook went to press, final statistics were not avallablej Fencing became a varsity sport at Post for the first time this year. Dr. George De Nagy coached both the ments and woments teams.
