Little did the members of that class realize how much each successive publication challenged us as students to set our goals high, to grasp opportunities, to give service, and to face life filled with courage and hope. Little did they realize, too, that each successive issue serves as a yardstick for our graduates to meas- ure their successes in terms of their basic achieve- ment here at Eppes. May this issue, too, serve to preserve what has become an Eppes tradition. Let t)s continue . . . 7 2 ADMINISTRA TION Mr. W. H. Davenport, Principal The enviable reputation of Eppes, both in scliolarship and citizensliip, is due largely to tlie sacrificial efforts of our esteemed princi- pal, Mr. V. H. Davenport. Mr. A. E. Murrell, Supervisor of Instruction, Greenville City Schools The untiring efforts of Mr. Murrell in keeping our schools abreast of new trends in educational practices are greatly appreciated by the patrons, the students, and the teach- ers throughout tire entire system. 4 Board of Education Mr. J. H. Rose, Dr. F. H. Longino, Mrs. A. Fi. Van Dyke, Attorney Louis W. Gaylord, Mrs. Herbert Hadley, Mr. John H. Bizzell, Mr. J. B. Kittrell, Jr. , Dr. E. B. Aycock, Chairman. Mrs. Ellen, Carroll, Assistant Superintendent We are exceptionally fortunate to be a part of a system which is administered by a little lady with a big purpose -- that of making the Greenville schools second to none in the state . t 5 The Senior Class of C. M, Eppes High School is proud to dedicate the 1965 EPPESONION to our beloved Superintendent, Mr. J. H. Rose. His frequent talks to our student body have helped us to realize that an education and a good character are essentials to a happy and successful life. Among the many deeply impressionable statements that he often makes is I respect any man who has character. By the same token, we respect Mr. Rose very higlily because he himself is a scholarly administrator of exceptional moral character. 6 LANGUAGE ARTS Mrs. J. J. Darden, Miss B. A. Brockett, Mrs. O. B.
