mmamsmoBam esomon C.M EPPES HIGH M. Sppes High School Qreenville North Carolina. To hold, we ' ll always try, Our Alma Mater high; live long and never die, Dear Old Eppes High With this publication of the 1963 EPPESONION, we hope that we shall help to keep ever alive the tradition that was established eight years ago by the class of 1955. The inspiration that we received as we turned the pages of the first and subsequent editions of the EPPESONION has inspired us to preserve these memories which are not only precious to us, but which we trust will also inspire those who come after us. Yearbook sessions— gridiron victories and defeats— Homecoming Games and frolics — basketball — Glee Club and band rehearsals — Hi-Y meetings — semester exams concert nights— gossip hours— these are the events that made our high school years more enjoyable and seem- ingly made them just waste pleasantly away. In years to come, if an examination of these pages should renew old friendships and revive sagging ideals, then none of our striving shall have been in vain. The Staff — Memoriam When the One Great Scorer comes and writes ag ainst your name— He marks— not that you won or lost— but how you played the game. His unselfish and devoted service, his going beyond the expected in his duties, his giving without expecting a tangi- ble return, and his imparting to us traits of good sportsman- ship endeared Coach Daniels to all with whom he came in contact. In his memory, therefore, the Senior Class sets aside this page as a memorial to MR. PERCY L. DANIELS 4 ■ — — — C ZD Dedication In profound gratitude for her contribution in elevating the cultural level of our music appreciation through the years; for her proficiency in language instruction; for her exemplary good manners; and for her frankness and over- anxiety concerning our futures, we, the graduating class of 1963, proudly dedicate this issue of the EPPESONION to MRS. S. L. DAVENPORT. Sf } MRS. A. W. JONES Secretary to the Principal MR. W. H. DAVENPORT Principal Year after year, over and over again, his tenacious fight to overcome any obstacle that might destroy his ideal— a school, well-disci- plined and highly rated scholastically— has won the admiration of his faculty, his student body and the entire community. tim I COMMERCE Miss Ruth M.
