Text from Pages 1 - 80 of the 1960 volume:

This is our School and we Present THE 1960 EPPESONION The Senior Class C. M. Eppes High School Greenville, North Carolina The absence of Verna Stokes, a former member of the class of 1961, who passed a- way November 23, 1959, is yet felt by the entire school. Because she was an excellent scholar and because she exhibited admirable traits of character, dignity, charm, and kindness, it is hard to believe that she is gone, but much easier to adhere to the illusion that she is still among us. We, the Senior Class of 1960, therefore, proudly set aside this page in her memory. 2 Dedication In sincere appreciation for an ingenuous devotion to our students; for superb qualities - as an instructor, a basketball coach, a guidance counselor, an assistant principal; and for an endeavor to develop a bond of understanding for our shortcomings, we, the graduating class of 1960, humbly dedicate this issue of the EPPESONION to MR, A. E. MURRELL. 3 And this is Our Principal A profound devotion to the interests of the students and graduates of Eppes and a staunch idealism of how a school should be managed are but two things that make our principal, W. H. Davenport, an exceptionally strong leader. 4 MR. A. E. MURRELL Assistant Principal Mathematics Physics MRS. E. B. GRAVES MISS R. M. STATON MRS. O. B.
