The Phillies beat the Royals in a World Series noticeably lacking Yankee participa- tion. New fads would surface, such as baggies, skin-tights, miniskirts, or bell bottoms. As a decade begins things change and new questions emerge. In politics, in sports, and in fashion, each day is a new beginning for Brewer students. The band hall is a current addition to Brewer. Though construction began in january of 1979, only since April has the facility been used. Included features are eight sound proof rooms, each offering a place for solo or group practice. Two offices enable the directors to work with more individual students. A uniform room, an instrument room, a music library, a rehearsal hall, a classroom and several other attractions gave the band a new feeling of excitement. The band hall marks a new beginning for the Brewer High Band. New courses, new teachers, new buildings, new spirit, a new season and a new team. All of these represent breaks in tradition, with most changes needed and greatly appreciated by the students and faculty, 1980-81 was clearly a year of new beginnings for Brewer High School. 4 o OPENING Students decorate the hallways for Homecoming. The signs get bigger and bigger and . . . Mr. Clay talks things over at the ice cream supper.
