Behavior at B. H. S. . . . Well . . . I'll let it pass this time. But I want it brought up by the next report card! f'Oh, I'll bring it up, I promise I will. By the way, when is the Open House? Uh, oh. I don't know. I'll try to find out tomorrow. CMost students have forgotten the conversation by the next morning, and usually wait until the last minute to tell their parents when Open House is.J II. How To Look Alert In Class When You 're Really Asleep: The most important thing to remember is to keep your head up. A good way to accomplish this is to either prop your head in the palm of your hand or lean on the wall behind you. Don't forget this very important rule: DO NOT SNORE!! That is a dead give away. Every so often, wake up and look around. This gives the teacher the impression that you know what is going on. Try to have a friend nearby, to warn you if the teacher is coming and for when the bell rings. HL How To Sneak Into Class Late and Not Be Caught: Sneaking into class can be very dangerous. The first thing to do is to take a peek in the room to see where the teacher is before opening the door. When she has her back to the door, quickly open the door, dash into the room, and quietly take your seat. Most students can easily pass this stage, but are usually caught when a best friend sees you coming and yells: Where have you been? a comment which starts the teacher in asking questions. IV. Where To Go When You Are Supposed To Go To The Office: On those rare occasions when the teacher feels that it's time for you to visit the principal, shefhe will send you to the office with a misconduct slip. Naturally . . . while on your way directly there, you: 11 Suddenly have a strange urge to go to the bathroom. 2j Bump into a friend whom you haven't seen since break in the hall- way. 31 Walk so slowly that by the time you get there, the misconduct is two hours old. 4 ' Anybody - Opening

I.How To Fail a Class And Convince YOUR PARENTS That It Was the Teachers Fault: First, admit that the report card really is yours. Then, before your parents ground you for the next two weeks, tell them the truth. Another F?!?,' But Mom! The Teacher doesn't like me! Don't give me that. No, she doesn't! I don't know why! '4What have you done to her?', Nothing, I promise. Then why does she hate you? I don't know. I always answer all the questions she asks. Then why did you get an F? She always loses my homework. How To AnswerA Question Legibly With A Mouthful of Crackers: There comes a time in the day when the student realizes that he should have eaten breakfast, and that lunch is still two hours away. This realization uncannily occurs every day at the same time-second period. Fortunately for the student, there comes a fifteen minute break between classes in which he can buy something to curb his mid-morning munchies. However, there are disadvantages, by the time break is over, the average student has not finished his snackfs1. He must then resort to eating them in third period. There are minor difficul- ties in the arrangement, however. Around the time you have almost finished off those cheese crackers, the teacher calls on you to answer a prob- lem on page 16, question 18. There are several ways to react in case such an emergency arises: 11 Start Choking. The teacher will usually feel sorry for you and send you to get a drink, thereby for- getting all about the problem. 21 Try to slip the crackers back into your pocket before she notices them. This method is used by experts quite often, but unfortun- ately, most teacher's eyes prove faster than the students hands. 31 Ask her to repeat the question and swallow the crackers as fast as possible, adding a few coughs for effect. fThis is used the most by inexperienced students in the cracker field.1 A Real Pro can swallow the cracker, slip the package back into his pocket, and answer problem 18 on page 16 all in the same motion. We are not advocating that this is the correct way for students to behave. Rather, we feel that we are accurately portraying the usual behavior patterns of most students at Brewer High School. 1.
