judge: This courtroom will now come to order. Our first case: The 'Prosecution vs. the co-defendants of America, White Settlement, and Brewer High School. Prosecution, will you present your opening statement? Prosecution: I will prove that the co-defendants of America, White Settlement, and Brewer High School are guilty of un- necessary CHANGE that has drastically affected both them, and their people. I also intend to prove that the CHANGES they demand today are unnecessary. I conclude my opening statement. judge: Defense, will you present your opening statement? Defense: I will prove that the co-defendants are completely innocent of the charges brought against them. I will not at- tempt to deny the CHANGES the co-defendants have expe- rienced and I will not deny the fact that they continue to de- mand CHANGE, but I will prove that the CHANGES were necessary then, and are necessary today. I conclude my opening statement. judge: Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, you have heard the opening remarks of both the Prosecution and Defense. Be- fore Prosecution presents his evidence, I advise you: Listen carefully to the evidence given. The fate of the three defen- dants lies in your hands. Prosecution, you may state your case. Prosecution: My first point of evidence occurred 200 years ago when your people, America, fought for the cause of freedom. As the result, a revolution of CHANGE swept the country and ravaged us to the present-1976. During this time, technology produced never-dreamed-of inventions and vehicles that allowed men to construct . . . and destroy. Consequently, the face of your land became disfigured with the scars of PROGRESS. Along with the physical destruction of your land and wil- derness, your people's morals were also destroyed. All re- spect for standards was forgotten amid the noisy construc- tion of CHANGE, and your people substituted decency for development.
