Mr. Heuberger has a big problem. The BAND! The Band marches in the Cotton Bowl Parade. Richard Carlson enjoys playing on his sax! C.E. ing Band at The Cotton Bowl This year the C.E. King marching band accepted an invitation to march at the l977 Cotton Bowl. This was a real treat for most of the members because the majority had never been on an airplane ride before. It took a lot of hard work to plan and make enough money for the trip to Dallas. The band reserved two planes. The money situation was another thing. Who would think that a bunch of kids could raise enough money for a big trip by using nothing except willpower? Well that was the main reason that the band raised nearly 320,000 dollars! Jackie Jenkings wishes she had a pair of sunglasses! Connie Cross. Susie House, and Darralyn Bailey seem to be SCREAMING at the cold weather. 83

Kevin Grossinger - Drum Major 1 i Darralyn Bailey waits for that first step. Officers are: Kevin Grossinger, Debbie Wilson, Rhesa Davis. Kathy Weid, Warren Wil banks, Susan Miller, Tony Cravens, Andalyn Thompson, and Sheryl Spurlin.

Lisa Thompson and Dawn Dryer march to the music. 84 The pantherettes seem to make every year just as excit- ing as the last. On Thanksgiv- ing day the Pantherettes marched in the Foley's Thanksgiving Day parade. To add to their collection of awards, they won the Sweep- stakes trophy and were Best of Class in the Jazz dance at Pan therettes Cami! S top Dancing the Channelview Competition on December 9. Their annual Christmas banquet was held at the Red Lion Club.
