The Science Department of 1977-1978 had its best year ever for C.E. King High. What was hoped to be a year of great accomplishment exceeded the expectations of the department and the students. p One such accomplishment would have to be the fullfill- ment of the Houston Post Sci- ence and Engineering Fair. Representing C.E. King with the highest honors, given a stu- dent from the fair was Bobby Lowe. His project on hurri- cane motivation was awarded the second place trophy in Earth-Space category, a S1200 work fellowship from the Insti- tute of Storm Research and the Most Outstanding Award from the American Meterolog- ical Society. Other award winners include John Lumb, Tim Lacy, and Warren Wilbanks.
